Double Trouble

I am 30 weeks pregnant with twins and loving it. Although my fiancé Luke is still living with his ex girlfriend and his 5-year-old triplet girls (born when they were high school seniors), he still finds time each day to pat my stomach, come for dinner, or doctor’s appointments.

My family was a little shocked that first off I was pregnant with the babies of a man who stays in the same house as his ex-girlfriend, and not my husband – although we are soon to be since we are engaged – and, although I am an employed nurse, he is not. The twins were not much of a shock since Luke is a triplet, and he has triplet girls already. Also, I am a twin, and so is my mother. I guess it runs in our blood.

It has started getting painful to be alone in my house at night and look at my very fat stomach. Then I realize these bundles of joy will soon make my house less lonely. I have had some back pain off and on but the doctor says it’s nothing to worry about. My life just now has gotten a little better, as my fiancé has just called to say he got a job and is moving in with me later this week. My life is definitely not a happy ending but the wedding is in 1 month, the babies are due in 10 weeks, and I am pretty happy.

Good luck to all!

Twins?

I just found out last week that I'm pregnant (number two). I had a little nausea and a lot of bloating. I estimated I should be approximately 6 weeks along. I had an ultrasound earlier this week and they saw one sac and thought they saw possibly another, although they couldn't find it again. Both the doctor and the woman who did the ultrasound were trying to play it down. I don't know if they were doing this for my benefit or because this is common.

They said the embryo they did see was very small and they thought my dates could be off although I'm sure of when the baby was conceived. I need to go back in two weeks for another ultrasound. I don't know how I'm going to make it through the next few weeks.

Twins at age 33

Hi everyone

I found out I was pregnant about four weeks ago after taking a home pregnancy test. I went for my first oby-gyn test today, and discovered I'm having twins. I cannot even begin to explain how shocked I am. My husband got a little teary.

I'm 33 and this is my first pregnancy. There is no history of twins in our families, and we didn't use any fertility drugs. I'm 10 weeks and 3 days along. Terrified, overwhelmed and excited.

a mothers intuition

I have 2 kids now and have been engaged for a year to my fiancé. We were going to get married this past August, but the roof on our new house demanded to be fixed, so we halted the wedding plans and embarked on replacing the roof together. Roofing is hard work, and working full time with two kids on top of it doesn't help.

I seriously don't even remember having sex because we were both so busy for those few months but one day I thought, "it seems like I might be late on my period". So I told my fiancé and he went to work and told his coworkers he was having a baby. "You did what?” I said. “You sure are going to feel stupid when the test comes back negative." The test didn’t come back negative, and a week later I was SICK. It almost feels like I have the flu every day; and food, well it just doesn't have the same appeal it once had.

Three weeks later none of my clothes fit and I knew something was up. I was never sick or showing with either of my first 2 kids until I was about 4-5 months. I'm having twins. I just knew I was. I went to my first doctor visit and said, "I'm having twins". They assured me that third pregnancies always show earlier. I said, “do the ultrasound, I'm having twins”. Sure enough, twins it is, and I'm now 4 months and looking like I’m about 7 months. It's actually kind of frightening. What’s weird is I've really only gained maybe five pounds but my belly is enormous!

Anyways, I'm freaked out, excited yes, blessed and all that, but mostly just trying to brace myself for the storm that lies ahead. My fiancé had told me that he wanted 2 kids and I said no way since I already have 2 from a previous marriage. I finally agreed on one...in a few years, to his dismay. So like always, he got his way. Good luck to everyone on your journey!!

I just knew I had twins

Hi, I became pregnant with twin girls in August of this year.

When I assumed I was pregnant, I also felt that if I was pregnant that I probably had two in there. I don't know how to describe it, but I felt my abdomen and thought, there must be two in there. That was before I even knew I was pregnant. Anyhow, I went to the doc and they told me I was pregnant.

Two days later I had an ultrasound and the doc asked me if I had twins in my family. I said no. Then she kept on looking for a while. I lay there and was thinking about what she just asked me, and thought it was a routine question, so I just took it for granted... but hey, there I was being told, "congratulations, you are having twins".

I thought only for a second, and could not believe it. I cried on the table right there :-). That was when I was 8 weeks pregnant. I am glad I found out so early.
